You've paid your non-refundable retainer, your photoshoot is on the calendar, and now you want to know what's next! Hopefully these next steps can help you feel at ease as you prepare to have a good time with me at your session!

Step 1: Plan & Purchase Outfits
Give yourself time to shop and find something you are comfortable and confident in. Don't be afraid to have a couple options to pick from. And don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need advice! Earthy, neutral tones are timeless. Solid colors photograph well and don't distract from the subjects' face(s). In general, wear clothes that allow movement.
(See my outfit tips below.)

Step 2: Schedule Nail, Hair & Makeup appointment(s)
These little details make a big difference in the quality of your edited photos, and make the biggest difference in your photoshoot experience! Call your nail technician and schedule an appointment the day before your photoshoot. Get your hair and makeup appointment scheduled for the morning of your photoshoot. Having it on the calendar means one less thing for you to do yourself, and relieves some stress! Help yourself feel comfortable, confident and excited for your session by investing in yourself!
Step 3: Create a Pinterest photoshoot board
I always come to every photoshoot with my own vision(s), poses, etc. But having you create your own inspo boards and/or lists help you and I know what you want and what your vision is of the photoshoot. If you have specific poses in mind, write them down and share them with me to make sure we don't miss anything!

Step 4: Take a few deep breaths
The hard work is already over, and now it's your time to relax and feel excited. Photoshoots are a great time to capture and celebrate this special chapter in your life. Your story is worth remembering, and I can't wait to help you do just that!

Poses & Specific Shots:

I always have my poses & prompts that I will use for our session under my sleeve. But please bring your ideas! Are there any poses you want to do? Did you see something on Pinterest you want to recreate? Let’s do it! The last thing I want to hear after our shoot is, “I wish I would’ve ____.”
Tips for Little Kids:

First off, just know that I am a mom. So I understand anything and everything that can or will happen during our photoshoot.
The more patient and happy mom and dad are, the better it will go, so smile and have fun! Let me know if your kids like certain music that we could play during our shoot. Do they have a favorite game to play? Don’t hesitate to bring their favorite toy, treat, or whatever will help them have fun and cooperate. Plan to have a surprise for them at the end that they can be excited about!
Final Thoughts:

Remember: Your life right here and right now is unique.
It will never be exactly this way ever again. Embrace it.
We are capturing your beautiful life today, so that 10 years from now, 20 years from now, you will be able to look back and remember how it was. You'll be able to tell your loved ones how things were "back then."
Let things be as they are.
Because right here and right now is beautiful.
